Key Responsibilities: Provide tailored instruction and support to Deaf and Hard of Hearing students in an elementary school setting Utilize appropriate communication methods and technologies to enhance student engagement and comprehension Collaborate with classroom teachers, specialists, and families to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed Participate in meetings and professional development related to DHH education Qualifications and Experience: Certification and/or licensure in Deaf and Hard of Hearing education or a related field Experience working with young students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing Strong communication skills, including proficiency in sign language or other relevant communication systems Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team Flexibility to work onsite at the school and potentially shift to a virtual format as required Location: Position is based in North Wilkesboro, NC, at an elementary school Duration and Schedule: Contract role for the current school year (CSY) Part-time hours with potential for schedule adjustments Benefits: Opportunity to impact student learning positively in a specialized role Supportive educational environment with resources for professional growth Interested candidates who are qualified and passionate about supporting Deaf and Hard of Hearing students are encouraged to apply.
