Soliant Education is seeking a dedicated
Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)
for an onsite role in
Philadelphia, PA
for the upcoming 20252026 school year. This is a
contracted, full-time position
working with students who have a range of visual impairments. Youll play a critical role in promoting academic access, independence, and inclusion through specialized instruction and collaboration with staff. Responsibilities:
Provide direct and consultative vision services to students with visual impairments across multiple grade levels.
Develop and implement IEP goals tailored to each students visual needs.
Adapt classroom materials using braille, large print, tactile graphics, or accessible technology.
Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, special educators, therapists, and families to support academic success.
Conduct functional vision assessments and learning media assessments.
Maintain timely and accurate documentation including IEPs, service logs, and progress reports.
Travel between school sites as needed within the district (if applicable).
Requirements:
Valid Pennsylvania certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI).
Experience working with students with low vision or blindness, including use of assistive technologies (preferred).
Strong understanding of braille instruction, orientation & mobility collaboration, and accessible instructional materials.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
