Mack Trucks & Volvo Trucks North America (collectively, Group Trucks, NA) are looking for a Legal Counsel to support the Group Trucks Operations (GTO) division that focuses on operations and logistics, and the Group Trucks Technology (GTT) division that focuses on research and development, and new technologies. Both divisions have a global footprint with sites around the world, and your main focus will be on activities in the United States. The role involves proactively and independently driving the legal agenda for GTO and GTT in the US and providing proactive legal support to help achieve business goals while minimizing risk. Key Responsibilities
Actively identifying and proactively mitigating legal and compliance risks and opportunities for GTO and GTT in the US. Drafting and negotiating contracts and other agreements related to logistics services, customs and trade positions, emerging technologies and investments, electromobility, intellectual property, and special projects. Overseeing litigation, dispute resolution and disagreements with suppliers and other entities. Managing legal interests related to public projects, NGOs, export control, emerging technologies, public affairs, electromobility and battery technologies. Working with the Volvo Group’s CampX, strategic collaborators, and internal cross-functional teams. Drafting and negotiating R&D agreements including partnership agreements and technology license agreements; providing legal support on privacy, IPR, open source, security, software and data matters. Administering the Volvo Group’s compliance program by providing training, advice and investigation support relating to the code of conduct, competition law, anti-corruption, export control, data privacy, whistleblowing and investigations, and document retention policies. Becoming a trusted, proactive legal advisor to GTO and GTT colleagues to support business goals and strategies, and taking ownership of special projects as assigned. Who are you?

Juris Doctorate Degree from an accredited law school is required. Must be a state licensed attorney in the United States and in good standing. Experience and Knowledge
At least 7 years of relevant experience in a legal role at a law firm and/or in-house, with a broad array of responsibilities, ideally in the transportation industry. Other Requirements

Volvo Group follows a clear compensation approach. Base pay for this position is $159,900.00 - $197,500.00 annually, with bonus eligibility where applicable. Final salary is determined by location, knowledge, certifications, skills, education and experience, plus pay equity considerations.
