Group Trucks Purchasing is located in 52 sites around the world, has 1,300 employees and a yearly spend of 120 BSEK (~$11B USD). We have 2,550 suppliers in serial production that delivers 1.9 billion parts to Group Truck plants annually. Our team, Electromobility, Electronics, Electromechanics & Autonomous Purchasing North America, is a key contributor to deliver Volvo Group’s Mission with the increased complexity coming with the continued introduction of new technologies and customer features along with the acceleration of the electrification of our products. We enable this by securing Quality, Delivery, Cost, Feature, Technology, Sustainability and Risk Management (QDCFTSR) targets through Sourcing, Product Development, and Operations support of both serial production and service parts, with strong collaboration with our strategic counterparts located in Europe. We are also focused on the future success of Volvo Group through helping to accelerate technology and business innovations through partnerships in CampX by Volvo Group! What You Will Be Doing

As the Manager of Electrical Purchasing North America, you are responsible for strategic and operational activities within your area of scope pertaining to your region by implementing global methods. You are responsible to drive/manage day-to-day business and performance of your team of Project and Commodity Buyers from a QDCFTSR standpoint. Your scope will include, but will not be limited to, managing supplier relationships, cross-functional collaboration, and contributing to supplier negotiation and global segment strategies. You will need to be agile, think globally, act locally, and appreciate cross-functional work and global setups! Your target? To build a strong, cohesive team of purchasing specialists, to drive business excellence, and execute the needed change in an industry full of exciting challenges! You will be based out of Greensboro, NC and report to the Director of Electromobility, Electronics, Electromechanics & Autonomous Purchasing, North America. Main responsibilities will include: Scope responsibility for Wire Harnesses, Power Cables, Fuse & Relay Centers, Batteries, Starters & Alternators segments Manage purchasing QDCFTSR deliverables in order to support the regional and global business objectives by aligning actions with both your regional Engineering peer and global Purchasing Strategic Line Ability to create a close interface with the Purchasing Strategic Line located in Europe to proactively address the North America business needs within the global strategy Own the Profit & Loss (P&L) for the assigned segments including leading supplier negotiations and discovering cost savings opportunities Ensure that assigned segments’ project sourcing and commodity plans are developed and delivered in a timely manner Provide input and execute the segment strategies and manage supplier selection/relationship/partnership and negotiation Hold responsibility for budget and operating expenses Be an active contributor to the team’s development Work in accordance with the Volvo processes, the Code of Conduct, and the Volvo Values Ensure collaboration with the other managers within the respective segments Manage cross-functional interactions with Engineering in development of technical roadmaps, appoint supplier hosts within his/her area Give input to department purchasing business plan, entertain continuous improvement and sustainability Who You Are

At the Volvo Group, we strive for a clear, transparent, and straightforward compensation approach, motivating you to contribute to the company’s growth. For this position, the base pay is set at $129,000 - $159,000 annually, and where applicable, bonus eligible. The range for this role, as well as final salary offered, is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, work-related knowledge, certifications, skills, education, and experience.
