Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator/Project Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction estimating and project management, with the ability to analyze project requirements and develop accurate cost estimates. This role requires excellent negotiation skills and proficiency in industry-standard software. The Estimator will play a critical role in ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget while maintaining high standards of quality. Duties Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and overhead costs. Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to gather necessary information for accurate estimations. Analyze floor plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive bids. Conduct site visits to assess project conditions and gather data for estimating purposes. Negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers to secure favorable pricing and terms. Monitor project costs throughout the construction process to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints. Maintain organized records of estimates, contracts, and correspondence related to projects. Provide support during the bidding process by preparing bid packages and responding to inquiries from potential bidders. Qualifications Proven experience in flooring or construction is essential. Proficiency in estimating software such as Bluebeam and Measure square is highly desirable. Strong understanding of construction processes, contracts, and cost control measures. Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders. Experience in construction site management or project management is an asset. Ability to analyze complex data sets and make informed decisions based on findings. Strong attention to detail with exceptional organizational skills. A background in construction management is preferred but not mandatory.
