Overview
The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the Chief, Cybersecurity Section. Responsible for the security posture of the 17 TRG training systems and networks.
Organization location: 17th Training Wing (17 TRW), 17th Training Group (17 TRG), 17th Training Support Squadron (17 TRSS), Training Systems Flight (TXTSC), Goodfellow AFB, TX.
Duties
- DUTY 1 - Analyze and report organizational and system security posture trends.
- DUTY 2 - Promote awareness of security issues among management and ensure sound security principles are reflected in the organization\'s vision and goals.
- DUTY 3 - Perform cyber defense trend analysis and reporting.
- DUTY 4 - Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship Required
- All new DCIPS employees are required to complete a two-year DCIPS trial period.
- Must Obtain/Maintain Top Secret Security Clearance with SCI
- If authorized, PCS will be paid IAW JTR and AF Regulations. If receiving an authorized PCS, you may be subject to completing/signing a CONUS agreement. More information on PCS requirements can be found at: https://afciviliancareers.com/regulatory/
- This posn is subject to provisions of the DoD Priority Placement Program
- Must be registered for Selective Service, see Legal and Regulatory Guide
- This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Testing Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short-notice drug testing.
- Employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, to include evenings, weekends and/or holidays
- Shift work and emergency overtime may be required
- Employee must maintain current certifications

- Employee may be required to travel in military and/or commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty assignments.
- Employees and family members requiring medical/dental care in the overseas location are responsible for obtaining/paying for care. Access for these members to military medical/dental treatment facilities is on space-available/reimbursable basis only.
- Qualification IAW DoD 8140-policy series is a condition of employment.
- Per DoDI 8140.02, the incumbent of this position must achieve foundational qualification requirements within 9 months of assignment and resident qualification requirements within 12 months of assignment to this cyberspace work role.
- Waivers may be granted, not to extend beyond 6 months IAW DoDI 8140.02, C4.2.c.2. Failure to receive proper qualification under the Cyberspace Workforce Qualification and Management Program may result in removal from the position.
