Elementary School Key Responsibilities: Facilitate clear and accurate interpretation between students, teachers, and staff using American Sign Language (ASL). Support classroom instruction and special activities to ensure full participation of Deaf and Hard of Hearing students. Collaborate with educators and support staff to adapt communication methods and materials as needed. Maintain confidentiality and professionalism while adhering to school policies and procedures. Qualifications: Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with proven interpreting experience in educational environments. Familiarity with the developmental and communication needs of elementary-aged children. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively bridge communication gaps. Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to enhance student learning. Relevant certification or licensing as a Sign Language Interpreter is preferred.
