PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Serve as the campus PEIMS facilitator. Facilitate the efficient operation of the school office and perform routine office procedures. Maintain accurate attendance records of all students as required by law. Provide clerical support to counseling office.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
High school diploma or GED
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Ability to use personal computer and software to develop spreadsheets and databases, perform word processing
Proficient keyboarding, file maintenance skills
Effective organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Knowledge of student accounting, attendance procedures, student records, and scheduling procedures
Knowledge of office machines
Experience:
Two years clerical or secretarial experience preferred
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Serve as the campus PEIMS facilitator. Compile attendance reports daily, keep accurate records, and prepare other related reports, including PEIMS materials. Serve as campus registrar; register new students, write/call for transcript, and send and receive transfer student records. Collect forms including but not limited to federal forms, lunch applications, bus forms, gold cards, honor roll, AGR, Code of Conduct. Keep informed of and complies with state, district, and school policies and regulations concerning primary job functions. Process student withdrawals and maintain permanent records of students. Responsible for issuance of tardy and absentee slips and early check-out files. Communicate with students and parents in an effort to prevent truancies, unnecessary absences, and tardiness. Prepare records for truancy hearings. Promote positive public relations through effective communication and interaction with students, teachers, parents, and community people Assist students, teachers, parents, visitors as needed. Regular attendance; must be willing and able to report to work at designated site on a regular daily basis according to established work schedule. Receive incoming calls, take reliable messages, and route to appropriate staff. Comply with all district and local campus routines and regulations. Present a positive image of the school including interest in the education, growth, and development of each child. Maintain confidentiality of all records and information. Post grades and perform related grade reporting tasks. Make home visits as assigned by principal. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
