The Material Controller must be knowledgeable of maintenance and construction materials. Will need knowledge of computer equipment, where applicable. Must learn and understand all safety hazards related to the work and learn to safely and effectively use or operate work related tools. Will be required to work in a plant operations or construction jobsite setting.

Responsibilities

Order materials when required

Schedule equipment through proper protocol

Set up, charge, all work orders and account numbers

Receive, inspect, help unload and distribute materials/equipment received

Set up and maintain inventory system and reordering

Assist contract supervision upon request

Assist in the field when needed

Maintain file system and cross-reference book

Attain proper accounting documents for all work order numbers monthly

Assist operator with orders when requested

Locate specialty equipment such as transition pieces, check valves, etc.

Load and unload equipment and materials

Qualifications

Physical

Occasionally required to lift up to 25 pounds

Regularly required to talk or hear

Frequently required to walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms

Subject to repetitive use of hands/arms

Occasionally required to stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, use hands and fingers to handle and feel

Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus

Will need to perform sedentary to heavy work

Mental

Must have the ability to direct others and communicate effectively with other management/ supervision

Will need to be able to perform sedentary to heavy work

Talking and reading & writing comprehension is necessary for giving and receiving directions to perform work and/or safety policy

Ability to use math/complete calculations

Must be able to concentrate amid distractions and remember details

Ability to use computer, keyboard, telephone and other office devices
