MRI Catheterization Technologist

We are currently searching for an MRI Catheterization Technologist to support the research conducted by the Cardiovascular Branch (CB) with the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute (NHLBI) Division of Intramural Research (DIR). This position provides technical services for pediatric, adult and geriatric patients, as well as preclinical studies, under the general direction of a physician within a unique clinical research environment. The MRI Catheterization Technologist will work closely with clinicians in obtaining research data for clinical protocols within the DIR, NHLBI. This is a full-time (32 hours/ week), on-site opportunity in Bethesda, MD. Responsibilities include: Performing cardiovascular MRI examinations Preparing patients for diagnostic cardiac MRI examinations and catheterization examinations Performing interactive real-time scanning to guide MRI catheterization and flow measurements Screening patients and staff for MRI safety Managing patient comfort and anxiety during all phases of MRI catheterization Performing post-processing of MR images to measure heart function and flow, including manual segmentation of images and data recording and reporting Preparing patients and facility for sterile procedures Strictly adhering to all magnetic resonance (MR) safety standards and protocols related to MR environment Submitting images of technical quality Obtaining sterile intravenous (IV) access for administration of MRI and radiographic contrast studies Performing QA/QC procedures in accordance with American College of Radiology (ACR) guidelines and equipment manufacture, and in accordance with NHLBI MRI Catheterization Standard Operating Procedures and Guidelines Maintaining room cleanliness in accordance with NIH standards Rooming patients, managing patient flow and obtaining pertinent patient medical information/data Assisting in the performance of diagnostic and interventional X-ray catheterization procedures, investigational X-ray and MRI catheterization procedures on patients or large mammals Performing post-processing and image analysis of CT, X-ray, MRI, and ultrasound acquisitions as needed for laboratory research. Working closely with physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, anesthetists, technologists, imaging scientists, facilities staff, and veterinary staff Performing other duties as assigned Requirements: Must have a bachelor's degree and at least EIGHT (8) years of invasive cardiovascular technology experience Must hold or obtain a magnetic resonance certification, such as a Radiography certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), within one year of employment Need to hold or obtain an active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (per American Heart Association guidelines) prior to start date Need to have or obtain certifications in both Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) within the first four months of employment through NIH provided programs Must be able to obtain and maintain a Federal or DoD "PUBLIC TRUST"; candidates must obtain approved adjudication of their PUBLIC TRUST prior to onboarding with Guidehouse. Candidates with an ACTIVE PUBLIC TRUST or SUITABILITY are preferred. The annual salary range for this position is $130,000.00-$216,000.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
