Description:
The Administrative Assistant performs a variety of clerical tasks for the Dean's Office and supports the deans, faculty, students, and parents. The assistant is welcoming, friendly, and willing to help all stakeholders.
Salary and Benefits:
Base Starting Rate - $22.90/hour - Non-Exempt under FLSA Personal and Sick Day Leave provided Reimbursement - up to $1300 annually for tuition reimbursement Insurance - 100% district paid Single HMO Health (other options also available) Retirement - IMRF (Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund) - the district pays the full district premium, employees pay the 4.5% employee contribution
Education, Experience, and Licensure
High School Diploma or equivalent Clerical and secretarial experience - preferred Experience with office and school-based management systems - preferred

Essential Functions
Assists deans with all clerical needs Assists deans in managing the procedural tasks regarding absences, tardies, and Thursday detentions Manages tardies Manages all aspects of student transportation Coordinates all aspects of field trips including but not limited to ordering transportation, excusing student absences, collecting and depositing field trip fees. Coordinates all special transportation needs for special events Updates student data system with bus information and deans' notes Creates attendance and disciplinary letters Assists deans with security cameras as needed Coordinates senior off-campus passes Coordinates locker assignments for all students and provides locker information to various groups, as needed Coordinates senior parking passes Performs other job related duties as assigned by direct supervisor Adheres to Board of Education policies and procedures
Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, and reach. The employee is occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, push, pull, and lift. Repetitive motions are required, especially for keyboarding which involves substantial movements of the wrists, hands and/or fingers. The employee must lift and/or move up to 10 pounds of force frequently. Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly subject to inside environmental conditions and is subject to noises associated with both office and educational environments.
