Hospice of Michigan
Calling flower lovers! Come enjoy the gardens of Arbor Hospice!
Hospice of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Michigan, us, 48113
Enjoy the Michigan flowers by helping maintain our beautiful, healing space for the area surrounding Arbor Hospice.
The Opportunity:
The Arbor Hospice Campus , located in Ann Arbor, has (8) acres of property with (13) gardens and (3) ponds. Our campus is open to the surrounding community, young and old, our staff members, the hospice volunteers, and family members of patients, to walk the property for peace, healing, and reflection. We are looking for both individuals as well as groups of 4-10 volunteers who are interested in working with our Master Gardener to give love and care to our dedicated garden beds. The gardens feature a variety of perennial flowers and native plants in areas around our building and our ponds. A few of our themed garden highlights are the following: a Five Senses Garden, a Pollinator Garden, an Herb Garden, a Monarch Waystation and, to honor our veterans, a Veteran's Memorial Garden.
How often would I need to volunteer?
We are seeking volunteers throughout the late summer & early fall months on Tuesdays & Wednesdays anytime between 8:30 am-3:00 pm
(however, we can be flexible).
You can volunteer one time, or come several times! Ask your colleagues! Ask a friend! Most of our individual volunteers like to work for a couple of hours in the morning or in afternoon. Our group volunteers may wish to contribute their time in longer time slots, (e.g., 6 hours). We have several exterior shaded respite areas for scheduled breaks. We will provide water and lunch (if 4 hours or more). Who would this opportunity be a good fit for? This is a great way for students to obtain volunteer hours or have some family fun time! If you are looking to volunteer for a non-profit, are looking to benefit the community, are interested in getting fresh air and visiting with others, this is the right opportunity for you! Please consider volunteering if hospice has touched your life and/or you are looking to contribute to the mission of hospice. We welcome corporate groups, church groups, community groups, students, families and groups of friends to apply. Our gardens are maintained by community volunteers. We need you!
