Medical Director Wound Care, Norwalk, Connecticut (50 miles from New York City)
Norwalk Hospital, affiliated with Nuvance Health, is seeking a full-time Medical Director for Wound Care at Norwalk Hospital in Norwalk, Connecticut. Located in suburban Fairfield County, just 50 miles outside of New York City along the Connecticut shoreline and 10 minutes from Norwalk Hospital, this role offers growth opportunities with outpatient community programs and advancement in hyperbaric medicine. The location is family-friendly, with close proximity to NYC and easy access via train.
This employed position with Nuvance Health Medical Practice offers a competitive total compensation package, including base salary, incentive pay, paid time off, CME allowance, medical, dental, vision, life, disability insurance, 401(k) match, and possibly a signing bonus.
The ideal candidate should have experience in advanced wound care and hyperbaric medicine supervision. However, candidates interested in learning these specialties will be considered, and hyperbaric training will be provided. Wound care and HBO certifications are preferred but not mandatory.
Norwalk Hospital has 366 beds and is a Level II Trauma Center with approximately 50,000 ED visits annually. As a teaching hospital affiliated with the University of Vermont College of Medicine, Ross University, American University of the Caribbean, and Yale School of Medicine, it has received recognition from Healthgrades as one of Americas top 50 hospitals in 2024 and 2025, placing it in the top 1% nationally for clinical quality.
Situated on a hill with views of Long Island Sound, Norwalk Hospital serves a diverse region of Southern Connecticut. Job Requirements:
MD or DO with CT State License, Federal DEA, and State CSR
Successful completion of a US residency and board certification in your specialty
At least 3 years of practice experience, including some management, leadership, or administrative roles
Minimum of 40 hours hyperbaric certification
Willing to work Monday Friday, 8 hours between 7 AM 5 PM
Bi-lingual Spanish skills a plus
