Overview

TEKsystems has a client that is seeking a Network Engineer to administer and support their global data communications network. This role involves designing, developing, and optimizing network systems, ensuring all designs are documented and supportable. As the network expert, you will handle engineering, configuration, deployment, and maintenance across various technologies, including Azure, Campus, Plant LAN, Wireless, WAN/SD-WAN, and Datacenter LAN. You will troubleshoot complex network issues, communicate maintenance and downtime, and develop business continuity and disaster recovery plans. Key Responsibilities Analyze network needs, contribute to design and installation, lead project implementations, ensure security compliance, and monitor network performance. Provide engineering, configuration, deployment, and maintenance across multiple technologies. Troubleshoot complex network issues and communicate maintenance and downtime. Develop and implement business continuity and disaster recovery plans.

Qualifications and Experience

Experience with OSPF/EIGRP/Spanning Tree protocols Experience with BGP and OSPF routing protocols Experience and knowledge in two or more of: Cloud (Azure, AWS) networking, Routing and Switching, Security (Firewalls, Proxy technology), Wireless, Data Center, Video/Voice, SD-WAN Experience implementing and operating a security architecture that secures all corporate enterprise network edges (both ingress and egress) Experience creating and maintaining network topology, logical flow and other documentation with Visio or equivalent tool Strong understanding of network QoS methods, markings and mitigation strategies Experience with network sniffers to analyze data and resolve issues Ability to analyze network performance data to identify trends and provide upgrade recommendations Excellent communication skills and ability to convey technical information to audiences with varying levels of technical knowledge Occasional travel to secondary data center in Grand Rapids

6+ years of Network Engineering experience (Cisco) Data Center experience: Core Route/Switching (BGP + OSPF) SD-WAN experience: Upgrading to version 3.4 Willing to travel rarely to Grand Rapids (2-3 times per quarter; more with refreshes) NICE-TO-HAVE: Cisco ACI; Cisco Out of Band Management (Opengear); Wireless Networking; Azure experience; Cisco Firepower; Zscaler

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $70.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms. Work Location and Schedule

This is a hybrid position in Mason, MI. The schedule is a hybrid mix of onsite and remote work (2 days onsite, 3 days remote or vice versa). Application Deadline
