Maritime Project Manager

with the potential to work out of any of our Maritime offices within Raleigh-NC, Houston-TX, San Diego, Irvine-CA, or Tampa-FL. The successful candidate will be involved in projects with our

Ports and Maritime Team

and be part of a growing organization that meets our clients objectives and solves their challenges. Our Maritime group comprises highly motivated analysts, planners, and maritime civil and structural engineers working in several key locations across the US and internationally. Major clients include port authorities, U.S. Navy, U.S. Coast Guard, terminal operators, contractors, private entities, and municipalities. Our strength is derived from the diversity of our marine-related work and our staff. WSP has been a leader in waterfront design for over 90 years. The projects are diverse, interesting, and challenging. You would join the largest and best waterfront/marine design group in the country. As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for maritime projects or groups of smaller capital projects, including managing task leaders, schedules, budgets, and client expectations. You will participate in formulation and presentation of technical concepts in proposals, during the design phase, and for client presentations. You will also contribute to growth and development of the team through mentorship, technical guidance, and participation in hiring and evaluation of junior staff. This role offers an opportunity to control your career path while expanding design skills and client relationships across a regional and national scope. Your Impact Take responsible charge for supervising the work of staff engineers, supervising task leads, and self-performing calculations and preparing drawings and technical specifications. Prepare technical studies and reports and guide/review the work of staff engineers. Oversee calculations, cost estimates, drawings, technical specifications and reports. Perform quality assurance checks. Manage/lead projects, tasks and staff for marine facility projects (e.g., cargo terminals, federal facilities, port authorities, DoD, private terminals, public agencies). Coordinate multiple disciplines and internal/external teams (civil, structural, geotechnical, electrical, mechanical, coastal, fire protection, architecture). Prepare alternatives analysis reports and presentations for repair projects and capital improvement programs. Lead review meetings, client presentations, and design charrettes. Engage in business development and marketing activities. Maintain positive client relationships. Participate in preparation of technical proposals, presentations, negotiations, and staff estimates. Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSPs Code of Conduct and related policies. Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

Bachelors Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering 7+ years of relevant post-education experience in engineering with prior marine, port, and coastal design experience Engineer license required (multi-state preferred) Aptitude in maritime-related codes (ASCE, COPRI, etc.) and DoD (UFC, UFCG) criteria Competency to supervise staff in state-of-the-art computer programs Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSPs safety policies Flexible to a variety of schedules to meet business needs and ability to prioritize responsibilities in a dynamic environment Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements Ability to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card (TSA background check)

Preferred Qualifications

Masters Degree in Engineering Experience with design and management of Port Authority, NAVY, or Coast Guard projects
