Rapid Response Team Manager

to lead our hospital-wide Rapid Response program. This role is vital in ensuring early recognition and intervention for patients showing signs of acute clinical decline. The manager will provide leadership, oversight, and strategic direction for the team, while fostering collaboration across nursing units. Education: Graduate of NLN approved Nursing program and Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Experience: 5 years experience as registered nurse and 2 years of management experience; specialty areas may have increased experience requirements as dictated by unit or standard of care. Licenses and Certifications: Texas (or BNE Compact State) nursing licensure; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; current license upon hire; BCLS required. Upon Hire Responsibilities

Develop and implement an effective action plan to improve performance in the department. Meet or exceed financial goals and objectives of the department. Provide direct patient care and/or function as "charge" as needed. Mentor other nursing personnel; evaluate and supervise provision of patient care. Adhere to all policies and procedures, code of ethics, JCAHO standards, and nationally recognized nursing standards. Review and adjust nursing assignments to meet patient needs and policy requirements; implement disciplinary actions as appropriate and in policy compliance. Identify and resolve physician, patient, and/or family complaints; report interventions to Guest Services and/or Department of Nursing for follow-up prior to discharge. Review schedules and staffing plans to ensure adequate coverage; utilize staffing guidelines and patient acuity systems to provide cost-effective care. Use resources appropriately; identify efficiency or cost-saving ideas and report to DON and/or CNO. Hire nursing personnel for the unit; participate in performance improvement activities; complete performance reviews and orientation evaluations; implement terminations with appropriate approvals. Provide counseling for nursing personnel as appropriate; submit timely reports to DON or HR; generate and follow-up on incident reports as needed. Conduct staff meetings and coordinate projects; collaborate with nursing staff and Nurse Educator to meet educational needs; promote professional growth among nursing personnel. Develop the unit's annual capital and operational budgets; oversee payroll editing and attendance records. Foster teamwork among nursing personnel and staff; facilitate timely return of specialty equipment; participate in care conferences and care planning. Performs other duties as assigned.
