Summary
The Navy Integrated Training Environment (NITE) Network Administrator Nightwatch ensures 24/7 network availability on the Navy Enterprise Tactical Training Network (NETTN). Working within the Network Operations and Security Center (NOSC), you will operate, maintain, and troubleshoot multi-classification LAN, WAN, and VPN infrastructure. This position follows a Panama shift schedule (6 PM6 AM), rotating long and short weeks to provide continuous coverage. there will need to be a willingness to work evening, night, and weekend shifts,

Directly supports the training readiness of Navy personnel by keeping NETTN online and secure. Enables mission-critical exercises and simulations that hone warfighter skills. Ensures rapid response to network incidents, minimizing downtime and preserving operational tempo. Maintains cyber resilience and compliance across multiple classification levels, safeguarding sensitive data.
What You Will Do
Maintain smooth operation of local area, wide area, and virtual private networks (VPNs) Plan, evaluate, and coordinate installation or reconfiguration of network hardware/software Configure and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, multiplexers, hubs, bridges, and gateways Monitor network performance and conduct short- and long-range capacity planning Troubleshoot connectivity issues, including WAN circuits, equipment failures, and protocol-level problems Maintain Information Assurance compliance, including IOS upgrades, configuration changes, and firewall ACL updates Support remote sites in restoring network operations Prepare and maintain network documentation, operational instructions, and change records Coordinate with third-party vendors for equipment maintenance and upgrades
What You Must Have
Education and Experience (select one):
5 years of relevant experience with a Bachelors degree in related field 3 years of relevant experience with a Masters degree in a related field PhD or Jeris Doctorate in related field (No experinece required). 9 years of relevant experience with a High School Diploma or equivalent
Technial Experience & Required Credentials
Experience with Cisco Netowkring Fundamentals (IP Addressing, VLANs, routing, protocols) Familiarity with DoD STIGs and Network security best practices. U.S. Citizen Current or active DoD Secret security clearance (maintainable) CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent/higher certification (meets DoD 8570.1-M and SECNAV M-5239.2 IAT-II requirements) Ability to work 12-hour overnight shifts on a rotating schedule.
Preferred Requirements
Experience installing/troubleshooting WAN/LAN equipment and circuits ASA firewall ACL configuration and troubleshooting Packet?level analysis using sniffers, protocol analyzers, NetFlow, and logs Knowledge of OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, multicast, and Cisco IOS Experience in a NOC/help desk environment with ticketing systems Familiarity with Cisco VoIP and NSA Type 1 cryptographic devices
