Shift 1 Job Summary
The Surgical Technologist handles instruments, supplies and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure. Has an understanding of the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon. Maintains quality patient care during the operative procedure and monitors the sterile field. Performs related duties to support department cost containment, efficiency, and quality performance. Experience
A minimum of 1 year of work experience as a Surgical Technologist is required. Competent in the role and able to independently perform tasks related to surgical technology. Anticipates surgeons' needs; advanced knowledge and ability. Ability to first assist is preferred. Education
High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Post-high school education, certification or diploma required. Completion of a Surgical Technologist program, completion of Military Operating Room Specialist course, or Froedtert Health sponsored apprentice II program required. Licensure
American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or AHA approved equivalent required within 90 days of hire. Certification as a Surgical Technologist is highly preferred. Perks & Benefits
