The Surgical Technologist handles instruments, supplies and equipment during the surgical procedure. Understands the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon. Maintains quality patient care during the operative procedure and ensures the sterile field is maintained. Performs related duties to support department cost containment, efficiency, and quality performance. Responsibilities
Prepare and pass instruments, supplies and equipment during procedures Maintain sterile field and ensure patient safety Anticipate surgeons' needs and assist as required Support department efficiency and cost containment Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of work experience as a Surgical Technologist Completion of a Surgical Technologist program or equivalent certification; post-high school education or Froedtert Health apprentice program as required Certification as a Surgical Technologist; AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of hire Ability to first assist is highly preferred Education
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Post-high school education or certification required. Licensure & Certifications
Certification as a Surgical Technologist. AHA BLS required within 90 days of hire. Some staff may be grandfathered under specific criteria. Perks & Benefits
