We are seeking an experienced Natural Adabas Developer to support the modernization and transition of a legacy Automated Information System to a modern technology platform. This role involves maintaining and enhancing legacy Natural code while contributing to the development of new features aligned with a future-state, CCWIS-compliant system. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Natural, VB6, .NET, and SQL, along with a strong understanding of child welfare systems and data migration processes. Key Responsibilities Maintain and enhance legacy Natural code in a production environment. Develop and implement data cleanup scripts using SQL and Natural for data de-duplication and integrity. Analyze and prepare data for migration from legacy systems to modern platforms. Support validation and testing of data migration tools and scripts. Participate in technical planning sessions, project meetings, and inter-agency collaborations. Act as a subject matter expert on both legacy and modern child welfare systems. Contribute to system design and documentation efforts. Represent the agency in technical discussions and planning sessions. Required Qualifications

10+ years of experience with Natural programming language. 10+ years of experience with Visual Basic 6 (VB6). 10+ years of experience with SQL. Experience with .NET Framework (C#, ASP.NET). Proven experience maintaining and troubleshooting legacy systems. Strong understanding of data integration, batch processing, and file-based interfaces. Experience with code refactoring and system modernization. Familiarity with data mapping, conversion, and migration planning. Proficiency with source control tools (e.g., Git, SVN, TFS). Prior experience with Child Welfare Information Systems (SACWIS, MACWIS, or CCWIS). Understanding of child welfare business processes (e.g., case management, intake, licensing). Ability to translate program requirements into technical specifications. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Experience mentoring junior developers or leading development tasks. Preferred Qualifications
