Peraton is seeking an Oracle Database Administrator to support an Intelligence Community customer in the Washington D.C., Maryland, and Virginia area. The candidate will be responsible for: Perform database administration activities required to install and maintain database management software, design and implement predictive analysis. Install, configure, provision, operate, and administer database management systems and related software and backend storage server and hardware platforms. Design, install, monitor, maintain, and performance tune production databases while ensuring high levels of data availability. Provide support to the development and implementation of database policies and procedures to ensure databases' integrity and availability, including software updates. Communicate regularly with the development team, business, and operations teams to ensure the security and confidentiality of data. Responsible for the availability, reliability, and integrity of business data stored in production databases. Required Qualifications: TS/SCI with poly clearance adjudication or active TS/SCI ability to obtain and pass a poly Bachelor's degree in a field of study applicable to the position with 8+ years of relevant experience. Additional 4 years experience may be considered in lieu of degree. A minimum 8 years of experience with Oracle Database Administration Active Security+ (DoD 8570 Baseline certification for IAT Lvl 2) Experience with Oracle database platforms Experience with applying database STIGs Experience with patching databases Experienced with troubleshooting and resolving database performance issues Independently able to upgrade major database instances Experienced with and independently able to employ multiple database backup strategies Desired Qualifications: Experience writing SQL and PL/SQL queries to generate system data reports, modify data as necessary, etc. Experience with other databases such as PostgreSQL, Elastic Search, etc. Experience in database design and development Experience with Linux and/or Windows operating systems Experience with Amazon Web Service (AWS) Cloud experience Experience with VMWare Familiar with Agile practices Advanced experience in database monitoring, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and high availability strategies for Oracle 19c or higher Experience architecting, designing, developing, and managing databases Advanced knowledge of Oracle Database backup and recovery strategies Advanced knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for Oracle Database Ability to design, develop and document technical solutions and standard operating procedures Ability to administer Linux/Windows server-based operating systems and CLI w/ scripting. Experience with capacity planning, utilization, and performance monitoring (Index, Table, Queries, and Stored procedures). This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
