Supervisor: Director of Development Location: Saint Paul, Minnesota (Hybrid options considered) About MACV The Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans (MACV) is a national leader in ending veteran homelessness. For over 30 years, MACV has provided housing, services, and support to thousands of Minnesota veterans annually. Our innovative programs leverage partnerships, philanthropy, and federal resources to ensure every veteran has a path to stability. MACV is recognized statewide and nationally for its effective solutions to complex housing and homelessness challenges. MACV is comprised of over 120 employees in locations throughout Minnesota. MACV's annual operating budget is over $20 million and owns and operates approximately 240 units of housing for veteran households that have ongoing capital improvement needs. Position Overview The Grants Manager is a key member of MACV's Development team that consists of a development director, communications coordinator, and grants manager (this position). The grants manager is responsible for managing, sustaining, and growing revenue from public and private institutions including government agencies, foundations, and corporate funders. This role oversees the full lifecycle of grant activity from prospecting and relationship-building to proposal development, narrative writing, submission, and post-award compliance. The ideal candidate is a skilled communicator and writer with strong organizing and productivity skills who thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment. This position requires strong project management, writing, and technical skills, as well as the ability to collaborate across departments and with external partners. Key Responsibilities

Qualifications Bachelor's degree in communications, nonprofit management, public administration, or related field, or equivalent experience. Minimum 3 years of professional grant writing and management experience, including government and philanthropic grants. Strong project management and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple complex projects independently. Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills. Experience with Salesforce (or equivalent CRM or donor management systems), Microsoft Excel, and Office Suite preferred. Familiarity with nonprofit financials, audits, program budgeting, and compliance requirements. Experience and comfort using AI tools in grant writing and prospect research. Background in housing, homelessness, or social services is preferred. Valid driver's license and ability to travel to program sites and events as needed. Why Join MACV?
