$72,000 To 82,000.00 Annually Reason Position Exists: 180 Degrees Grants Manager is a full-time position that plays an integral role in the organization and functions as a key member of the Advancement team. Reporting to the Chief Advancement Officer, the Grants Manager is responsible for managing, sustaining, and growing revenue from institutions including family foundations, community foundations, and corporate foundations. The Grants Manager will oversee the end-to-end function including prospecting, building relationships with current and potential funders, managing the grants calendar, writing compelling grant proposals and grant reports, and reporting. The Grants Manager will be an effective communicator, working across the organization to engage internal teams. The Grants Manager will lead continuous quality improvement by maintaining and improving internal systems and reporting. Duties and Responsibilities
include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Grants Portfolio Management. Manage and prioritize a portfolio of up to 150 funders, develop systems and plans to build relationships, align grant proposals with funder priorities, and submit timely proposals and reports. Build relationships with internal teams to identify 180 Degrees strategic priorities, needs, and opportunities. Relationship Management. Working in partnership with the Chief Advancement Officer, maintain consistent communication with funders to advance relationships and visibility. Prioritize key relationships and develop plans to sustain and grow funding. Partner with the Advancement team to identify and execute opportunities to strengthen relationships through site visits, volunteer opportunities, event participation, and related activities. Planning and Resource Management. Proactively manage calendar for grant proposals and reports for timely submission. Build relationships across the organization to understand organizational and program strengths, needs, and opportunities. Build relationships to ensure timely receipt of data, budgets, client stories and testimonials. Communicate with and prepare internal teams for site visits (video and in-person). Proposal Development and Submission. Lead all aspects of proposal development in collaboration with internal and external partners, preparing and submitting proposals, letters of inquiry, budgets, sponsorship requests, and applications to funders. Employ effective communication working cross functionally to gather strategies, data, external research, client stories to develop compelling proposal narratives that meet funder guidelines and communicate concepts. Communicate with funders and external partners for clarification on proposal guidelines, formats, compliance purposes, and follow-up communication as needed. Develop systems to manage documentation and attachments required for proposals. Operations and Reporting. Maintain consistent, accurate and timely documentation of contacts, accounts, opportunities, proposals, awards, payments, reports, future opportunities, and actions related to relationship management. Manage and produce monthly dashboard reports for the Advancement and Finance teams and Board of Directors including grant productivity and revenue compared to budget and prior year. Grants Coordination. Working with Quality and Program teams, develop internal systems for communicating grant requirements and reporting. Partner with Marketing lead to enhance visibility of funding partners where appropriate.

Develop a 12-18 month communication strategy deployed across email, social media, direct mail, and events Partner with the Advancement and Program teams to identify and develop content including client stories, program impact, donor, volunteer and staff profiles, data stories Write headlines and copy as needed Partner with graphic designer to develop communications aligning with brand guidelines Execute the plan meeting timelines
Develop and execute a variety of digital/print fundraising campaigns that sustain and grow revenue
Develop campaign calendar, campaign themes, and content in partnership with Advancement team Execute campaigns using email, MailChimp, third party providers such as GiveMN, and direct mail sources Track campaign results against goals and adjust plans as needed Establish effective, consistent policies and practices
Segment and analyze donor data on giving preferences, geographies, and giving amount to inform fundraising strategies and campaigns
Can proficiently access and analyze donor metrics including gift dates, gift size, and campaign performance Can proficiently segment donor metrics based on donor interests, geography, and gift date Can export data from Salesforce for email and direct mail campaigns
Essential Competencies: Attend and participate in organizational and Advancement staff meetings, retreats, and special sessions. Provide general support to the Advancement team as needed especially for special events including charity golf outings, annual fundraising gala, fundraising breakfast events, donor stewardship events, volunteer events and assisting the Advancement team as needed. Strong writing and editing skills; The ideal candidate will have experience writing short copy for emails, newsletters, web/digital, social media. Demonstrated skills in planning, executing, managing communications calendars and projects Able to produce accurate and timely work and meet deadlines. A self-starter who can work independently and build effective relationships across the organization and in team Strong written and verbal communication.
Qualifications: Bachelors degree in a related field including communications, marketing, advertising, sociology, or business. Minimum of three years grant writing/management nonprofit experience preferred. Expertise in compiling and synthesizing information from different sources. Excellent time manager, able to juggle and re-prioritize assignments when needed. Requires demonstrated organizational skills and success meeting deadlines. A good professional wrangler of people and resources to pull what is needed to meet deadlines. Prefer experience with a non-profit CRM (Salesforce, Raisers Edge, Boomerang). Demonstrated skill managing grants records. Effective communicator and coordinator able to build external and internal relationships while working independently and as part of a team. Support the positive work culture of 180 Degrees and its Advancement team. Valid Drivers License and reliable transportation to independently visit program sites as needed in Twin Cities, St. Cloud, and Rochester.
Work Environment: This position is a hybrid work environment. Requires 3 days in the office during regular business hours and 2 flex days.
