Description
Low Voltage Cable Technician encompasses a large range of technicians, from those with little or no knowledge of telecommunications cabling installation to those with many years of experience. A Low Voltage Technician should have the ability to learn the basics of copper and fiber optic cabling, installation and service, with a desire to learn various voice, data, security, and CCTV systems. Responsibilities & Duties
Install and maintain low voltage systems including cameras, alarms, and telecommunications equipment. Troubleshoot issues with existing installations to ensure optimal performance. Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and effectively. Ensure compliance with NEC or BICSI standards during installations. Utilize power tools and hand tools safely and effectively during work. Provide excellent customer service by addressing client inquiries and concerns. Pulling, routing, installing and terminating cat5/cat6/fiber structured cabling infrastructure in a commercial environment. Ability to work independently. Must be able to work nights and out of town. Ownership of basic industry tools. Benefits

Qualifications Training High school diploma or equivalent; ability to participate in classroom and on-the-job training. Experience Valid State Driver's License and good Motor Vehicle Record. Entry level to experienced Low Voltage Technician or similar role. Knowledge of NEC or BICSI regulations related to low voltage installations. BICSI Certification preferred. Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Necessary Special Requirements Must be at least 18 years of age. Must pass pre-offer and post-offer processes: interview, cabling skill tests, reference checks and background checks. Must have reliable transportation. Regular and predictable attendance is essential. Must be able to obtain items on Source Communications Low Voltage tools list. Must understand verbal and written English and be able to complete paperwork in English. Seniority level
