Chief Nursing Officer Our client, a 100+ bed acute care hospital located in the San Diego area, is seeking a highly skilled and collaborative

RN ICU Director

to lead their Intensive Care Unit. This is a key leadership role with oversight of a dynamic team and direct impact on patient care and outcomes. Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in general ICU operations and a proven ability to lead high-performing teams. They will be a skilled communicator and relationship-builder, capable of working cross-functionally to improve patient outcomes and operational efficiency. Position Highlights

Reports directly to the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) Full-time, exempt leadership role with 24/7 operational oversight Responsible for managing a team of approximately 110 FTEs, including: Clinical Supervisors Registered Nurses (RNs) Shared Clinical Educator (in collaboration with the Emergency Department) Oversees a dynamic and diverse ICU setting, caring for medical, cardiac, and neurological critical care patients Actively contributes to hospital-wide initiatives through leadership and participation in key committees Focus on fostering strong communication with providers, and building collaborative relationships with Nursing, Quality, and Risk Management teams Key Qualifications

Bachelors degree required; BSN strongly preferred Masters degree in Nursing or related field is preferred Minimum of 5 years of hands-on ICU clinical experience as a Registered Nurse At least 3 years of nursing leadership experience within an ICU or Critical Care environment Licenses & Certifications

Active and unrestricted California RN license (required) BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications from the American Heart Association (required) Specialty certification in Critical Care Nursing (e.g., CCRN) preferred Job details
