for the
chemical industry
market, including evaporators, crystallizers, and related technologies. This position offers both
local and remote
work opportunities. Responsibilities
Achieve capital equipment sales targets as set by the Director for the assigned territory and technologies. Develop and sustain relationships with key buyers to uncover new opportunities. Proactively pursue market penetration and drive new business growth. Communicate customer requirements internally and coordinate with relevant departments. Identify, qualify, and pursue leads through the full sales cycle. Foster trust through expertise, integrity, and a professional, approachable demeanor. Monitor and report on market trends, competitive activity, pricing, and project updates. Respond promptly to inquiries and diligently follow up throughout the sales process. Collaborate with process and mechanical engineers for technical support. Deliver persuasive proposal presentations to customers. Represent the company at trade shows and industry events as assigned. Negotiate confidentiality agreements and terms & conditions in partnership with management. Issue order confirmations and participate in project handover meetings with internal stakeholders. Provide regular updates on sales activities, proposal status, and forecasting. Manage travel and entertainment expenses efficiently. Contribute to team success by completing tasks as assigned by leadership. Coordinate with the Service team to align technical solutions and pricing strategies. Maintain and grow customer relationships while promoting GEAs brand and capabilities. Collaborate with GEAs European Centers of Competence when required. Your Profile / Qualifications
Required Skills/Abilities:
Four-year college degree in chemical or mechanical engineering (with strong chemical background), preferably with additional commercial education. In lieu of degree, 10+ years of experience in a similar role with similar technology is acceptable. In-depth knowledge of chemistry and chemical processes. Cooperate in the development of process flow diagrams, heat and mass balances, and P&IDs. Knowledge of chemical process equipment, including sizing and materials of construction. Ability to support proposal development, occasionally authoring proposals. Experience participating in plant audits to support new opportunities. Hands-on experience and troubleshooting skills are essential in this role. Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal. Ability to understand and communicate technical data and complex engineering systems effectively. Outgoing personality with a drive to win orders and close deals. Understanding of legal documents such as secrecy agreements and terms & conditions for sales of process equipment. Proficiency in MS Office products and general computer skills. Self-motivated with excellent interpersonal skills, capable of working well in a team setting and independently. Willingness to travel as required for sales assignments and industry functions.
