Job Overview

As a Business Intelligence (BI) Developer, you will use data and visual analytics to provide valuable insights and solutions to our clients. You will create technical solutions, develop data storage tools, and conduct rigorous testing to ensure the reliability of Tableau dashboards and reports. You should have a solid understanding of the business technology landscape, the ability to create impactful reports, and strong analytical and SQL skills. You will mostly support an external project for a client in the public sector, and may also support internal projects. Responsibilities Develop and maintain interactive and visually appealing Tableau dashboards and reports. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze data requirements. Design and implement data models and ETL processes using SQL to prepare data for analysis in Tableau. Create data visualizations, charts, and graphs to communicate insights and trends. Troubleshoot issues with Tableau reports and ensure data accuracy and integrity. Keep up-to-date with Tableau best practices, updates, and new features to enhance reporting capabilities.

Required Qualifications

5+ years of experience in Tableau development, dashboard design, and data visualization. 5+ years of experience in SQL for cleaning, transforming, and performing complex calculations on large datasets. Expertise in advanced Tableau features, including LOD expressions, table calculations, data blending, and performance tuning. Experience working with data warehouses (Redshift preferred). Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments. Knowledge of ETL tools (dbt preferred) and data transformation methodologies. Experience integrating Tableau with APIs, cloud platforms, and third-party data sources. Strong analytical skills and ability to communicate data-driven insights effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with Python or R for data analytics. Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and their data services. Understanding of machine learning and predictive analytics (a plus). Experience in performance tuning of SQL queries and Tableau dashboards for enterprise use. Experience working with the federal government on data visualization or analytics projects.

Security Requirements: Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance (i.e. must be US Citizen or Permanent Resident who has resided in the US for the past three years consecutively) Must be willing to operate in a hybrid environment, including work in person at a client site in the DC Metro area and at the Rios Partners office in Arlington, VA as needed (final schedule determined by team and project)
