Wireless RF Technician Trainee - (Juneau, AK)

GCI Communication Corp. is hiring a Wireless RF Technician Trainee for Juneau, AK. The role involves performing advanced troubleshooting, optimization, upgrades, commissioning, maintenance and repair of Wireless RF transmission lines, antennas, and cell site or transport related equipment for the Wireless GSM/CDMA/UMTS/LTE RAN and Microwave network, under supervision. Responsibilities

Perform installation, adjustment, advanced troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of Wireless RF transmission lines, antennas and other cell site or transport related equipment, including microwave, tower mounted radios, cellular antennas, fiber cabling, DC power, FAA warning beacons and tower lighting systems. Operate test equipment; provide technical support for technicians in remote locations; assist with Cherwell ticket maintenance and workflow. Assist with site audits, documentation, regulatory compliance (FAA/FCC), and safety logs; coordinate with Management and Regulatory parties. Support Engineers and RF Engineering in field-related optimization projects; participate in data analysis. Perform daily operational checks on RF equipment; maintain documentation and safety policies. Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent. Must become a certified tower climber for this role. Preferred: six months telecommunications/technical/customer service experience; Associates degree or relevant training; tower climber certification; other certifications. Driving and Physical Requirements

Driving: may require reliable transportation for travel between locations. Physical: ability to climb towers up to 200 feet, work at heights, lift up to 50 pounds regularly, work in varied weather, Alaska environment. Work Environment

Work hours may include overtime, on-call, and weekend/evening shifts. Travel may be required. Drug testing may be required as part of employment. EEO and Disclaimer
