Director Of Radiology
Lead the Radiology team at University Hospital, a prestigious Academic Medical Center consistently recognized among the top hospitals in Northern New Jersey. The Position The Director of Radiology will oversee the day-to-day operations of the department and identify opportunities to improve processes in alignment with the organization's growth and hiring objectives. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this leader will oversee a team of eight direct reports and 111 FTEs. Key responsibilities include leading workflow optimization efforts to drive greater efficiency and effectiveness across the department. This leader will be instrumental in developing creative recruitment and retention strategies to ensure the organization remains competitive in attracting top talent. They will also mentor, coach, and empower staffenhancing professional growth, elevating team performance, and building a strong pipeline for future leadership. The ideal candidate will be a subject matter expert in radiology with experience overseeing multiple modalities. This forward-thinking leader will be comfortable providing both strategic direction and hands-on support. Candidates should demonstrate strong critical thinking skills, a proven ability to lead and mentor staff, and the flexibility to adapt in complex environments. Prior experience in unionized settings and academic medical centers is preferred, though not required. Requirements Bachelor's degree required; Master's Degree in Public Administration, Business Administration or a related field is preferred. Active Radiologic Technologist (RT) license required. ARRT certification and ICS Level 400 certification preferred. Minimum of five years of clinical radiology experience and at least three years of managerial experience, ideally in a teaching hospital or unionized setting. Compensation Range The base salary range for this position is $170k-200k annually. In addition, a leader may be eligible for other benefits, including but not limited to health insurance coverage, retirement benefits, and bonuses. The total compensation for the finalist selected for this role will be determined based on various factors, including but not limited to scope of role, level of experience, education, accomplishments, internal equity, budget, and subject to Fair Market Value evaluation.
