Diagnostic Radiology Technologist Northeast Regional Float - Days at Geisinger. This posting reflects openings for X-ray Technologist I with consideration for higher levels (X-ray Technologist II) based on skills, qualifications, and experience. Location: Northeast Region - Wilkes-Barre and surrounding areas. Geisinger is offering a $20,000 sign-on bonus for eligible candidates and a $6/hr premium on top of the base pay rate. Radiologic Technologists are responsible for the administration of ionizing radiation for diagnostic, therapeutic or research purposes. They perform a full scope of radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures, acquire and analyze data for diagnosis at the request of and for interpretation by a licensed practitioner. They independently perform or assist in radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures and prepare, administer, and document activities related to medications and radiation exposure in accordance with federal and state laws, regulations, or institutional policy. Job Duties
Ensures correct order is obtained, patient is properly identified and prepared for exam, and that clinical history is corroborated and appropriately documented while respecting confidentiality. Utilizes appropriate imaging protocol and optimizes technical factors while maximizing patient safety, applying ALARA principles. Preparing and/or administering medications through vascular access site as prescribed by a licensed practitioner. Evaluates images for proper positioning and acceptable technical quality; verifies archival storage and/or data transfer and completes post-processing as applicable. Educates and monitors students and other health care providers. Assists the licensed practitioner with fluoroscopic and specialized radiologic procedures. Performs diagnostic radiographic and non-interpretive fluoroscopic procedures as prescribed, including in areas outside the Radiology Department (e.g., Operating Room, Endoscopy, ICU). New graduates must obtain ARRT-R registry within 6 months of hire date. Applicants hired after March 10, 2024 must complete steps required for advancing to level 2 within 24 months. Education : Graduate from Specialty Training Program - Radiologic Technology (Required); Bachelor’s Degree in Related Field (Preferred). Experience : Minimum of 1 year related work experience (Preferred). Certifications & Licenses : Radiography (R) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT); Basic Life Support Certification (BLS). Employer Values
