Overview
Diagnostic Radiology Technologist Northeastern Regional Float - Nights at Geisinger. The position may be filled at X-ray Technologist I with consideration for higher levels (X-ray Technologist II) based on skills, qualifications, and experience. Location: Northeast Region, Wilkes-Barre and surrounding areas. Geisinger offers a $20,000 sign-on bonus for eligible candidates and a $6/hr premium on top of the base pay rate. Responsibilities
Ensure correct order is obtained, patient is properly identified and prepared for exam, and that clinical history is corroborated and appropriately documented while respecting confidentiality. Utilize appropriate imaging protocol and optimize technical factors while maximizing patient safety, applying ALARA principles. Prepare and/or administer medications through vascular access site as prescribed by a licensed practitioner, when applicable. Evaluate images for proper positioning and acceptable technical quality; verify archival storage or transfer of data and post-process data if applicable. Educate and monitor students and other health care providers. Assist the licensed practitioner with fluoroscopic and specialized radiologic procedures. Perform diagnostic radiographic and noninterpretive fluoroscopic procedures as prescribed by a licensed practitioner, including those performed outside of the Radiology Department (e.g., Operating Room, Endoscopy, ICU). Qualifications
Graduate from Specialty Training Program - Radiologic Technology (Required). Bachelor's Degree in a Related Field (Preferred). Minimum of 1 year related work experience (Preferred). New graduates must obtain ARRT-R registry within 6 months of date of hire. Applicants hired after March 10, 2024, must complete steps required for advancing to level 2 within 24 months. Certification(s) and Licenses: Radiography (R) - ARRT; Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification. Employment details
