This is a Sherman Associates owned Hilton franchised location.

This Banquet Server plays a major role in the Hotels Food & Beverage experience. The Spirit to Serve is a key element in a positive experience. Consistency is critical, which is achieved by going above and beyond for the guests. A Banquet Server must be friendly, courteous, professional, and possess good communication skills. Must be able to multi-task and be able to think and act quickly and effectively while maintaining self-composure.

Pay:

$15.97/hour

Essential Functions

Sets up for events, carries trays, serves guests, and cleans up at the events conclusion. Set up includes: putting out tablecloths and place settings, arranging table placement, and putting up a buffet. Clean up includes: breaking down tables and taking tablecloths and linens to laundry. Inspects linen, silver, china, and other items prior to using them. Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of menu; market specials and suggest alternatives to guests. Takes and fills customer orders. Checks food prior to serving; ensures presentation and temperature is in accordance with company standards. Coordinates service with other servers. Serves food and beverages to guests, refills beverages as needed. Responds to customer requests and complaints in a timely and courteous manner. Uses a computer to ring orders on a check. Accepts different types of payment and makes accurate change. Checks for identification of guests to ensure guests are of legal age to consume alcoholic beverages. Refuses to serve beverages in a polite manner to guests who are not of legal age. Observes behavior, counts number of alcoholic drinks served, and ask a manager to intervene, as necessary. Completes other tasks and duties as assigned based on business needs.

Minimum Requirements

Previous hotel/hospitality or related serviceindustry experience is strongly preferred. Must be at least 18 years of age. Must be able to pass required Alcohol service training. A passion for the mission, vision, and values of Sherman Associates. Schedule may vary due to the specific needs of the hotel.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job operates behind the bar and other close quarters in close proximity to co-workers. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.Hazards may include, but are not limited to, cuts, slipping, tripping and burns.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to sit or stand in designated work area throughout the day based on business needs. Must have the ability to move around freely throughout the designated work area. Must be able to exert well-paced ability to reach tables and kitchen in a timely manner. Must be able to lift up to 25-30 lbs. frequently throughout shift, and lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. occasionally. Requires grasping, writing, sitting or standing, moving about freely, using computer, repetitive motions, bending, reaching, crouching, and communicating effectively. Must be willing and able to wash hands frequently throughout the shift.
