We are seeking a skilled Systems Engineer to join our team to manage our Microsoft Active Directory environment with a focus on the optimization of our on-premises Active Directory infrastructure and Entra Connect.
The Systems Engineer will focus on the design and deployment of new Active Directory services, aligning to the organizational data center strategy. The Systems Engineer will implement required technical and process-based optimizations to align with published organization policies and standards Responsibilities
Design, deploy, and maintain Active Directory environments including domains, trusts, and organizational units.
Complete environment maintenance including infrastructure upgrades, Entra Connect upgrades, and the installation of security patches.
Install and configure Active Directory services including domain controllers and directory services.
Manage and maintain default domain policies and domain control hardening policies.
Manage and optimize Group Policy Objects (GPOs) to enforce security policies, configurations, and compliance requirements.
Configure and maintain AD replication, sites and services to ensure high availability and performance across the environment.
Support and optimize GPO and OU delegation.
Monitor AD health to proactively resolve service issues.
Act as an expert support resource, troubleshooting issues related to Active Directory including AD integrations, DNS, LDAP, and Group Policy Objects (GPO). Assist and mentor junior systems engineers to foster personal growth and accountability.
Act as a subject matter expert during IT audits and 3rd party assessments of the Active Directory environment to identify risks and ensuring compliance with published policies and industry standards.
Create and maintain technical documentation related to Active Directory architecture, processes, and procedures.
Design, build, test and deploy scripting and automation to reduce the effort required to provide Digital Workplace Technology (DWT) services and support. Align solutions with the existing technology stack to provide seamless delivery.
Organize continuous improvement efforts by understanding staff insights and concerns and creating a pipeline of change. Maintains a keen eye on opportunities to improve user experience, efficiency, compliancy, cost savings, or reduce risk. Drive resolutions to production
