Key Qualifications and Experience: Certification in teaching Deaf and Hard of Hearing students or related licensure. Proven experience working with K-12 students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing. Strong communication skills, including proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) preferred. Ability to develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs). Collaborative approach to working with interdisciplinary teams and families. Understanding of assistive technology and accessibility resources. Responsibilities: Deliver tailored instruction that meets the unique learning needs of Deaf/Hard of Hearing students. Assess student progress regularly and adjust teaching strategies to ensure educational goals are achieved. Facilitate communication access through ASL, captioning, or other methods as appropriate. Collaborate with classroom teachers, speech therapists, and support staff to enhance student learning. Support students in social and emotional development within inclusive classroom settings. Maintain accurate documentation and comply with state and federal education regulations.
