Technician II - Structured Cabling
Fiber Optic and Troubleshooting experience recommended Job Summary: The Technician II - Structured Cabling must be able to perform the technical responsibilities of a Cable Installer and function as a lead member of a technical team. The Technician II - Structured Cabling will coordinate small groups of installers in the performance of daily workload including adherence to Company safety and quality standards. Job Duties and Responsibilities: Install a work area outlet for floor or wall (terminate CAT 3 and CAT 5 jacks. Mount face plates and surface mount boxes correctly. Adhere to IES COMMERCIAL labeling standards). Build closets (Mount and install backboards, cross connects, racks, patch panels, fiber optic and hardware). Install grounding for racks, equipment and cable as required. Complete all IDC connections (e.g. terminate 110/66 blocks and patch panels). Perform testing: continuity test horizontal and riser cable; use of volt-ohmmeter; troubleshoot opens, crosses, shorts, and transpose pairs on horizontal and riser cable. Identify active voice or data circuits. Assume responsibility for effective performance of crew and provide necessary training, coordinate personnel and timeline to complete project. Fully complete all IES Communications paperwork accurately and on time (timesheets, material transfers, work orders, change orders, tool transfers and others as required). Adhere to and participate in all Company, customer and industry quality and safety standards and regulations. Complete other responsibilities as assigned. Min USD $20.00/Hr. Max USD $30.00/Hr. Qualifications Physical and Mental Requirements: The Technician II - Structured Cabling must be self-motivated, positive in approach, professional and help create, develop, and implement project process improvement(s). The Technician II - Structured Cabling must promote the Company culture and mission to all employees, vendors, clients, and business partners. The Technician II - Structured Cabling must be able to act as the Company liaison for interface with customer representative(s). The Technician II - Structured Cabling must possess proven problem-solving skills, critical thinking skills and the ability to effectively read and write. The Technician II - Structured Cabling must be able to work at heights, on a ladder and in confined spaces, lift up to 50 pounds and move up to 75 pounds. Ability to endure long periods of standing, walking, or working in inclement weather and possession of sufficient physical strength and agility to lift and...
