Position Overview: MP Materials is seeking a dynamic and technically skilled Director, Financial Systems to lead the strategic development, optimization, and administration of our financial systems landscape, including SAP S/4HANA and OneStream. This role is critical to scaling our financial operations as we expand manufacturing capabilities and global operations. Reporting to the VP Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting, the Director will serve as the bridge between Finance and IT—owning key systems, managing financial data flows, and driving process automation across accounting, reporting, planning, and analytics functions. The ideal candidate will combine deep financial acumen, system implementation experience, and a passion for solving problems with scalable, technology-driven solutions. Position Responsibilities: Lead the administration, enhancement, and governance of financial systems including SAP S/4HANA, OneStream, BlackLine , and related tools. Act as primary liaison between Finance, IT, and external vendors to manage system changes, troubleshoot issues, and implement upgrades. Own the roadmap for financial systems improvements—identifying automation opportunities, standardizing processes, and ensuring system scalability. Lead or support major projects such as ERP implementations, module expansions, and integrations across procurement, inventory, fixed assets, and consolidations. Ensure data integrity and consistency across financial systems, working closely with accounting, FP&A, and supply chain teams. Develop and maintain robust documentation of business processes, configuration decisions, and control procedures. Train finance users on systems functionality and best practices; serve as a subject matter expert on data structures and reporting logic. Support external audits, SOX compliance, and internal control testing related to financial systems. Monitor and enforce user access, change control, and segregation of duties across systems. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting , Finance, Information Systems, or related field. 8+ years of experience in financial systems management, financial transformation, or accounting systems administration. Strong hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA (FI/CO and related modules) and OneStream (or similar CPM tools such as Hyperion, Tagetik). Demonstrated success leading finance system implementations, upgrades, or integrations. Excellent analytical, project management, and cross-functional communication skills. Desired Qualities: CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred. Public company experience in manufacturing, energy, or industrial sectors . Experience implementing financial automation tools (e.g., BlackLine , Coupa, FloQast ). Deep understanding of accounting workflows, month-end close , and consolidation/reporting requirements. Familiarity with data warehousing concepts, reporting cubes, and financial master data governance. Proactive, hands-on leader with a track record of delivering practical solutions in a fast-paced environment.
