The Staff RN uses the nursing process to deliver nursing care to a specific patient population within the care setting. Nursing care is based on interpreting and executing the medical and nursing treatment plans, adhering to established procedures, standards, and protocols during the assigned shift. The Staff RN provides comprehensive nursing care to the unit's patient population.

Attends NICU staff and multidisciplinary meetings, including monthly NICU/Respiratory meetings when possible Participates in NICU interdisciplinary patient rounds Supports NICU protocols and assists with orientation of new or transferred staff Monitors and analyzes environmental and patient data to promote safety Manages the environment to ensure infant security, including parental education Demonstrates ability to care for patients with arterial lines Collaborates with management, physicians, CNS, Clinical Quality, and directors to submit and analyze data within timelines. Identifies staff educational needs, mentors, and coaches as needed. Implements infection control procedures to reduce hospital-acquired infections, including care for central lines, urinary tracts, surgical sites, and respiratory infections (including influenza). Performs central line care per hospital policy. Supports breastfeeding education, including pump cleaning. Has knowledge of oxygen therapy, airway management, mechanical ventilation, and high-risk delivery including neonatal resuscitation and code management. Education & Certification
Degree Program: College Diploma in Nursing Experience: Minimum 1 year in NICU License/Certification: Registered Nurse License, BCLS or ACLS Certification, NRP certification within 3 months of hire Compensation Range:
$50.93 - $80.45 per hour
