Doughboy Depot is a premium custom apparel provider founded by a group of private equity professionals in NYC specializing in bespoke apparel collections for collegiate organizations, corporate clients, sports clubs, influencers, schools, and more. Having experienced rapid growth since our founding in early 2024, we are at an exciting inflection point where demand is significantly outpacing the team’s capacity to process orders in an organized and timely manner. We are seeking someone who has familiarity with the market, professional experience in an operations capacity, and is looking to take the next step of their career by assuming a vital role at the ground floor of a fast-growing company.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Director of Operations will play a key role in managing the company’s day-to-day operations:
(i) Overseeing, coordinating, and executing operational workstreams, and
(ii) Implementing and managing efficient systems for end-to-end production, logistics, and fulfillment.
This role will work closely with the CEO and operations team to streamline the company’s process infrastructure.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee daily operational workstreams, ensuring accurate and timely execution from production to fulfillment logistics
Translate high-level strategic objectives into actionable process improvement initiatives and help structure the company’s operational infrastructure to facilitate scale
Track strategic project workflows, client orders, and production details using project management and CRM software tools; capture and record production details from client communication channels
Process sales data to prepare, coordinate, track, and manage purchase orders with manufacturing partners and generate royalty reports for licensed products
Organize production assets (product design and artwork files, purchase orders, etc.) in shared repositories with manufacturing partners
Manage procurement of blank garments and oversee supplier relationships
Coordinate with fulfillment partners to provide packing and delivery instruction, track and manage ‘pick and pack’ inventory, and manage ‘print on demand’ product suite
Maintain strong communication with key stakeholders in the production process to ensure full alignment on accurate execution and timely delivery
Document, evaluate, and revise SOPs, identify process gaps and time consuming / repetitive tasks, introduce technology or automation tools to improve efficiency
Own end-to-end product and catalog management on the company’s e-commerce platform: create listings; maintain SKUs, pricing, variants, images, and shipping profiles; update site navigation; launch, update, review, and retire collection pages
Organize and align the operational elements of cross-functional tasks (sales, design, production, fulfillment, customer service) and establish systems around tracking KPIs
Oversee the customer service inbox, upholding a high standard of client service with timely resolutions of questions, requests, inquiries, and swift escalations of issues
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
7-10+ years of professional experience
Demonstrated success managing end-to-end processes for operations, production, and fulfillment in custom apparel, promotional products, ecommerce, or other adjacent fields
Direct experience using and configuring project management tools, CRMs, or other related software
Highly proficient in Microsoft Office or G-Suite; experience with Shopify or other ecommerce platforms
Comfortable toggling between high-level strategic thinking, executing daily tasks, and delegation
Autonomous, proactive, responsive, reliable, organized, strong judgement, and a quick learner
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Proven track record of leading process improvement, engineering, standardization, or automation initiatives
Experience with using/implementing AI tools in operational workflows
Four-year undergraduate degree from a U.S.-based university
General understanding of the collegiate greek life system or similar end markets
Experience with licensed products, royalty reporting, and collegiate licensing organizations
