Collections Specialist II
The Collections Specialist II is responsible for collection of payments on delinquent accounts through negotiation and education. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Fields inbound and outbound calls to and from members. Negotiates terms of repayment and processes transactions. Performs priority administrative tasks necessary to the daily operation of the department. Receives and responds to email and telephone requests for support from other Credit Union employees outside of the Collections Department. Performs skip tracing efforts to locate new contact information for members. Performs other duties as assigned, including support for other departments or other administrative functions outside of the normal scope of Collections. Experience: One or more years of experience in a collections environment is required. Experience working with collections in a financial institution is preferred. Experience working with bankruptcy, foreclosures, repossessions, and REOs is preferred. Legal background is preferred. Education: A high school diploma or GED. Other skills required: Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Google Workspace, including Gmail, Google Docs and Google Sheets. Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must possess excellent organizational, analytical and reasoning ability skills. Must possess excellent time management skills and must be accustomed to working with deadlines. Must be detail-oriented with the ability to maintain a high level of accuracy. Must have the ability to perform basic math skills.
