Join Ho'oilina Foundation, as a Full-Time Software Engineer.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a forward-thinking team dedicated to innovation and excellence in the IT industry.

This position is for an agile, talented software engineer to help modernize the Bureau of Industry and Security's (BIS) IT systems. This role will involve designing, developing, and deploying new applications that support the BIS mission of advancing U.S. national security and foreign policy.

Responsibilities
  • Develop targeted modular application functionalities to address current capability gaps in BIS's IT systems.
  • Design and build a centralized application portal for BIS users to access applications from a single location.
  • Architect and develop modules to be reusable and scalable so they can seamlessly integrate into the modernized Commerce USXPORT Export Support System (CUESS).
  • Ensure interoperability between new modules, APIs, and existing legacy application services to provide a seamless user experience.
  • Contribute to a modern technical stack aligned with the enterprise platform.
Required Skills & Experience

Please show 3+ years experience with the following technologies!
  • Experience with front-end technologies like React/Redux/Material UI/TypeScript/JavaScript and back-end frameworks such as SpringBoot/Java and Go.
  • Familiarity with database technologies like Oracle and Postgres.
  • Experience with AWS Container Based Deployments.
  • Knowledge of legacy systems, including Legacy Java Spring Framework/JSPs/Struts, to facilitate integration.
  • General knowledge of Open-source tool sets for development.
