Abacus Staffing is hiring: Warehouse Associate in Indiana

Job Description: This is such as a tool room attendant at a *** client site and this is where the interviews will take place (remind those who receive an interview invite that they would not be looking for *** signage but Howmet signage). Howmet 1110 E Lincolnway-3185. 2nd shift role 4:30 PM to 12:30 AM but will train on 1st shift (7 am to 5 pm, flexible with training hours) for 1 week before moving to 2nd shift. Need this role filled ASAP!

Overview

Responsibilities include receiving items, stocking shelves, assisting customers, cycle counting, and dock work. The job involves physical tasks such as lifting up to 125 lbs with team lifting and using equipment like pallet jacks. This is a customer-facing position. It is not a traditional warehouse position where the entire time is spent in the back moving material. Greeting customer at the door, answering questions, fulfilling the customers need and putting away inventory, filing paperwork. Entering inventory into the computer, cycle counts. Important focus on reliability, punctuality, and the ability to work independently

Responsibilities

• Pull and prepare orders for shipment.
• Receive, verify, stage and stock all incoming material.
• Ensure warehouse is clean, organized, secure and safe at all times.

Qualifications

• Must haves: 6 months warehouse experience
• Customer Service background helpful
• Computer experience in Excel, Word, helpful - 20% of the shift is receiving items into the computer inventory system.
• Receiving experience
• Ability to work well on their own and can be a leader

Additional Qualifications

• A background in Warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, delivery, and inventory is preferred.
• MRO product knowledge or the ability to quickly learn it.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, twisting and pulling for a full 8 hours shift.
• Use of Pallet jacks or walk behind lifts.
