Overview
The North Carolina Department of Adult Corrections (NCDAC) is the largest state agency responsible for the care, custody, and supervision of adults sentenced for violating North Carolina laws. The DECM division seeks an energized and collaborative Electrician II (Region Maintenance Electrician) to join the Coastal Regional Maintenance Team. This position reports to the Raleigh Area Satellite Yard in Raleigh, NC and will perform electrical preventative maintenance and like-in-kind Force Account electrical system replacements. The daily commute is to the Raleigh Area Satellite Yard with additional maintenance support at other regional Institutions. This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week position with state benefits. The work schedule is Monday – Friday and may require some weekend work and overnight travel to meet organizational needs.
Salary adjustments were approved effective January 1, 2025. The new salary range is $39,671.00 - $69,426.00.
Current state employees are encouraged to apply for roles of interest even if salary grades are the same or lower. If selected, salary will be recalculated based on education, experience, funding, and internal equity.
For permanent and time-limited appointments, benefits include health insurance options, retirement plans, NC Flex, paid vacation, sick leave, and paid holidays. Temporary or contract appointments may have different benefits.
Position requires daily travel between the Coastal Regional Yard and other institutions as needed, along with the ability to work independently from supervision and read blueprints.
