Overview The Director, Planning is responsible for analyzing, developing and implementing strategies in inventory/merchandise forecasting and planning across all channels to create and support merchandising financial plans, and company demand objectives and maximize overall profitability. The Director, Planning will partner with the Directors of Merchandising to communicate trends within categories, subcategories and collections to maximize demand, control inventory and maintain in stock and fill rate goals. This also includes managing the procurement process throughout a diverse and global vendor base. Your Impact

Ensure assortment structure and demand by collection supports the category financials and strategic goals of the division and company on a seasonal basis. This is a cross-functional effort with Merchandising Directors, Merchants and Planners; key tool/process used to support this are seasonal Road Map and Category financial build. Key metrics include demand, shipped sales, margin, inventory and fill rates.

Weekly, monthly and quarterly analysis and review of business by assortment and category to look for trends, identify and manage actions as well as, communicate and report on what is working and what is not, through the individual teams and leadership meetings.

Manage and direct F*21 forecasting and purchase activities to support merchandising plans and fill rate goals. This includes placing orders on time to support season demand as well as provide key vendors forecasts on needed purchases on a semi-annual and annual basis.

Provide transparent direction and leadership of the day-to-day operations to the planning team through clear concise communication of goals and objectives by focusing on what matters and holding self and team members accountable for actions.

Control poor performing inventory through early identification of items exiting assortments in season, analyzing and executing markdowns through a clear cadence to control non go forward inventory to 10-15% of total by season.

This position will be leading a team and providing department leadership, in a productive and transparent manner, identifying opportunities and solutions to maximize demand, fill rates and margin and turn. Fostering and maintaining business relationships with internal and external vendors, influencing business decisions, and driving planning strategies that fit the brand. Other important attributes

What You Will Bring

Minimum Education:

BS/BA in Management with Financial orientation Preferred Education:

MBA Minimum Experience:

5+ years in Planning, Allocation and Merchandising in a senior leadership capacity. Planning system knowledge of assortment, financial, allocation and forecasting systems. Preferred Experience:

3+ years in a Director level position relating to retail inventory management, proven experience in building and developing a planning organization, ability to create and manage analytical tools to support the business, including system implementation.
