Job Description Plant Reliability and Engineering Manager At STC, you will serve as the technical backbone for Maintenance, Engineering, Printing, Production, and Facilities. You will guide a skilled maintenance team, usually supervising a maintenance employee directly, and make decisions that keep our lines running, our costs in check, and our assets healthy. A day in this role You start by reviewing overnight performance, zeroing in on uptime, throughput, and cost trends. You coordinate with operations and printing to prioritize work, then move from the shop floor to the conference room to align on capital projects, approve spend, and clear roadblocks. Along the way, you coach team members, check environmental compliance items, and help implement the next wave of manufacturing and technical initiatives. What you will own
Leadership for maintenance staff with a relentless focus on maximizing production volume while meeting cost targets. Growth of technical talent through mentoring, development planning, and on-the-job coaching. Reliability of plant facilities and production equipment, ensuring assets are properly maintained. Ownership of the plant capital budget and the engineering expense budget. Capital lifecycle responsibilities, including CAR submission and coordination of all capital activities. Partnership with plant technical and operations teams to surface and prioritize capital deployment opportunities. Hands-on engineering support and resources that sustain production across maintenance, printing, and production operations. Communication planning and execution for manufacturing and technical initiatives across the site. People leadership including hiring, salary administration, performance management with corrective actions when needed, and employee development. AOP budget management covering technical group salaries, building and grounds, maintenance materials, and utilities. Accountability for environmental compliance and active support of plant safety programs. Direct supervision typically includes responsibility for a maintenance employee. Success looks like
