ANTICIPATED HUMAN RESOURCES COORDINATOR District Wide/Central Office

The Essex County Schools of Technology is seeking a 12-month Human Resources Coordinator at the District Office for the 2025-26 school year.

Position Purpose Under the supervision of the HR Director and HR Manager, the HR Coordinator provides comprehensive support for district-wide HR functions. This role focuses on employee benefits and pension administration, recruitment and onboarding, HRIS data management, compliance tracking, and overall administrative support to ensure smooth and efficient human resources operations. Qualifications Bachelor's degree required; background in Human Resources, Public Administration, or related field preferred. 2-4 years of relevant HR or administrative experience, preferably in an educational or public-sector environment. Knowledge of benefits administration, pensions, FMLA/leave, and HR compliance. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills. Proficiency with HRIS systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and Google Workspace. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion. Performance Responsibilities Serve as the primary contact for employee benefits, pension enrollment, retirement processing, and leave of absence inquiries. Guide new hires through benefits enrollment and ensure compliance with eligibility timelines and documentation requirements. Track and maintain employee health, dental, and life insurance data in coordination with third-party vendors. Coordinate open enrollment logistics and distribute informational materials for staff. Support recruitment efforts, including posting vacancies, prescreening applicants, coordinating interviews, and maintaining the substitute teacher pool. Create and distribute onboarding kits; assist in orientations for new hires. Maintain HRIS records and ensure compliance with credentialing requirements, TB test records, and background check documentation. Conduct exit interviews and compile data on staff resignations and absenteeism. Provide administrative support to the HR Generalist and district leadership as assigned.

Additional Duties Performs other related tasks as assigned by other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent. Note:

Terms of Employment This is a full-time day position during 12 months of the year. This position is governed by the collective bargaining agreement by and between the Board of Education and the Essex County Vocational Education Association. Compensation 2025-2026 contractual rate

The Essex County Vocational and Technical High Schools are public schools supported by County, State and Federal Funds. There are five such programs operated by the Board of Education for the Vocational Schools in the County of Essex. These include four high schools and one adult center. In addition to salary, the Board of Education offers fringe benefits to all employees. These benefits include maintenance of hospitalization insurance including Medical, Dental and Benecard Prescription Plan. The Board also maintains a $4,000 Group Life Insurance Policy for each employee.
