Job Summary The Leather Sewer is responsible for sewing leather components for upholstered furniture such as sofas and chairs. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of sewing techniques specific to leather to ensure high-quality and durable products. Department and Reporting Structure Department: Sewing Department Reports To: Sewing Department Lead Direct Reports: None

Key Responsibilities We Own It: Operate industrial sewing machines to stitch leather components with precision and durability, meeting production specifications and quality standards. We Give Our All: Inspect sewn leather pieces for consistency, alignment, and craftsmanship, resolving or reporting any issues. We Are Family: Work collaboratively with team members to meet production schedules and ensure smooth workflow within the department. Follow patterns, templates, and production instructions to create leather components that align with design specifications. Adjust machine settings to accommodate different leather types, thicknesses, and stitching designs. We Have Fun: Maintain a positive and energetic approach while achieving team goals and deadlines. Perform routine maintenance and care for sewing machines to ensure reliable and efficient operation. Keep the workstation clean and organized, adhering to safety protocols and maintaining workplace efficiency.

Qualifications Education High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience Minimum of 2 years of experience operating sewing machines, specifically for leather, in a manufacturing or upholstery environment. Skills Proficiency in sewing leather components using industrial sewing machines. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow patterns and specifications accurately. Effective communication and teamwork skills. Basic troubleshooting and maintenance skills for sewing machines. Certifications None required, though training or certification in leather sewing techniques is a plus.

Work Environment Physical work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to leather, sewing machines, and production tools. Requires sitting, bending, and repetitive hand and arm motions for extended periods.

Physical Requirements Ability to lift and handle materials weighing up to 25 lbs.

Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with frequent repetitive motions.
