About the Role The Senior Network Administrator is responsible for the design, security, and performance of client network infrastructures. This senior-level role requires deep expertise in routing, switching, and network security across on-premises and cloud environments. You’ll be the go-to escalation point for network issues, drive architecture and security decisions, and mentor junior staff while ensuring high availability and compliance across our client base. While primarily remote, occasional onsite visits (about once per quarter) may be required. Key Responsibilities Design, implement, and maintain secure network infrastructures leveraging Palo Alto, Cisco, and Azure technologies Manage firewalls, VPNs, NAT, ACLs, load balancers, and routing protocols Oversee cloud networking components in Azure, including VNets, VPN gateways, and security groups Serve as the Tier 3 escalation point for complex network issues, outages, and security incidents Troubleshoot ISP-related connectivity issues and manage vendor relationships Monitor and optimize bandwidth, performance, and network availability Implement network security solutions, including IDS/IPS, segmentation, and threat detection Develop and enforce network standards, policies, and change management procedures Mentor and provide guidance to junior system administrators and engineers Participate in IT strategy discussions, recommending improvements and future investments Support onboarding and implementation activities for new clients or environments Document network configurations, topologies, and processes for knowledge sharing Requirements Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience) 5+ years of experience in enterprise networking and infrastructure design Advanced expertise with Palo Alto and Cisco networking technologies Strong knowledge of VPNs, NAT, IP routing, ACLs, load balancing, and high availability design Hands-on experience with Azure networking concepts (VNets, VPN gateways, ExpressRoute, hybrid connectivity) Proven experience leading escalated incident response and root cause analysis Strong understanding of security best practices and compliance frameworks (HIPAA and HITRUST preferred) Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills Preferred Skills Industry certifications such as Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Administrator (PCNSA) or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Experience with SIEM tools (Splunk, Sumo Logic) Familiarity with
automation/scripting
