Role Summary: We are seeking an results-driven individual to oversee our accounting operations. This role requires deep expertise in real estate accounting, investment fund operations, and regulatory compliance specific to REITs. The SVP of Accounting will manage all aspects of financial reporting and ensure compliance with REIT tax requirements. The role will report to the CFO and manage the accounting and treasury teams at Outpost.
Key Responsibilities: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
Oversee property-level accounting including rental income recognition, expense allocation, and capital improvements.
Manage investment property valuations, impairment testing, and depreciation calculations.
Account for property acquisitions, dispositions, and capital transactions.
Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits and tax compliance.
Collaborate with asset management, acquisitions, and investor relations teams.
Ensure accurate and timely investor reporting packages.
Grow and develop talent across the accounting and treasury organizations at Outpost.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA required.
10+ years of accounting experience, preferably concentrated in real estate / investment service lines.
5+ years of public accounting experience, Big 4 preferred.
Strong knowledge of GAAP, particularly ASC 842 (leases) and ASC 820 (fair value).
Experience with REIT taxation and compliance requirements.
Proficiency working within an enterprise grade ERP system (Netsuite or similar).
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Experience working with B.I. tools and leverage data teams for process improvement.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
