As the
Project Manager , you are responsible for the overall financial performance, scheduling, and execution of assigned
construction
projects. This role oversees project planning, cost control, client communication, and resource coordination to ensure successful project delivery. The PM works closely with the Assistant Project Manager, Foremen, and General Foremen to manage all aspects of project operations from award through closeout, maintaining a focus on safety, quality, profitability, and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities: • Oversees all project financials, including job margin analysis, cost tracking, and performance against budget. • Prepares, maintains, and submits billing and payment applications in accordance with the project's schedule of values (SOVs). • Manages the preparation, submission, and negotiation of change orders, ensuring accurate documentation and timely approval. • Develops and maintains project schedules, coordinating with field leadership, the Director of Field Operations, and clients to meet deadlines and milestones. • Collaborates with the Procurement team to source materials and equipment at the best possible pricing while meeting project specifications and schedule requirements. • Oversees project purchasing activities, including purchase orders for materials, equipment, and subcontractor services. • Tracks, orders, and coordinates the delivery of materials and equipment to meet project schedules, working with vendors and suppliers to resolve delivery or availability issues. • Works with the Director of Field Operations – Commercial Divisions to ensure proper labor allocation and productivity for each project. • Ensures all Foremen and field technicians accurately submit and code their time for projects assigned to the Project Manager, verifying that the correct cost codes are used and reviewing for accuracy and compliance before payroll deadlines. • Provides final review and approval of project payroll, ensuring accurate time reporting and cost code allocation. • Supports field teams by relaying information, clarifying scope, and addressing immediate project needs. • Monitors and enforces safety standards and quality control requirements across all assigned projects. • Maintains regular communication with General Contractors, clients, and internal stakeholders to review progress, address concerns, and ensure project alignment with contractual obligations, including RFIs, schedule updates, and progress reports. • Diagnose and resolve customer issues and/or complaints by phone and/or e-mail to ensure the highest quality of service for our internal and external clients • Supports the Assistant Project Manager in the preparation of submittals, material tracking, and project documentation. • Leads project meetings with internal teams, clients, and subcontractors, documenting action items and ensuring follow-up. • Oversees project closeout, ensuring completion of punch lists, submission of warranties, and final invoicing. • Other duties as needed.
Qualifications: • 5–7 years of experience in project management within the construction, mechanical, or building services industry. • Strong knowledge of construction project financials, scheduling, and documentation. • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines. • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with construction management software such as Intacct, ServiceTitan, or similar is preferred. • Strong leadership, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • OSHA 30 certification or willingness to obtain. Working Conditions Environment • Primarily office-based with regular visits to job sites. • May require travel to client, supplier, or subcontractor locations. • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate • Evening and/or early morning, and/or weekend and holiday hours periodically • Ability to work remote with management approval
