Geotechnical Engineering Technician
to join our team. Position Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented professional with experience in soil evaluation, inspection, and site analysis to join our engineering team. This position will play a key role in supporting our projects by performing soil sampling, field testing, and documentation that guides design and construction decisions. While a professional engineering (PE) license is not required, a strong technical background in geotechnical soil concepts is essential. This is primarily a field-based role with possible office tasks pertinent to soil evaluation and reporting. The opportunity will include visits to project sites, conducting inspections, and collaborating with engineers to deliver high-quality solutions for our clients. The role will include standard materials testing as well as inspection. Key Responsibilities Perform field investigations, including soil sampling, classification, and logging Conduct soil testing and inspection for site development, construction, and foundation projects Assist in preparing field reports, technical documentation, and recommendations for project teams Support geotechnical engineers with data collection, analysis, and documentation Coordinate with contractors, site supervisors, and engineering staff to ensure compliance with project specifications Participate in quality control/assurance activities related to soils and construction materials Qualifications Associate or bachelor's degree in engineering technology, construction science, geology, or a related field; equivalent experience will be considered 10-15 years of experience in soil testing, inspection, or construction materials testing preferred Knowledge of soil mechanics, compaction testing, and site evaluation methods Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) for reporting and documentation Strong observational, documentation, and communication skills Ability to work in outdoor field conditions and lift
equipment/materials
